16 Mile Beach
The 16 Mile beach runs from Yzerfontein's Main Beach all the way to the border of the West Coast National Park in the North. The beach is the longest uninterrupted beach on SA's coastline. This +- 30km of beach is popular with sunbathers, kite surfers, swimmers and surfers.
From September until November it is calving season for whales and they can be spotted from the coastline.
The main beach can be enjoyed by families on a sunny day. Keen runners or walkers can venture up north until they get to the West Coast National Park border. Please just check the tides as high tide might reduce the stretch of sandy beach to run and walk on as you go further north from the main beach.
